Core Principles & Values
of the Heart of Breath Ceremonial Apprenticeship

Honoring the Breath as a Sacred Teacher

The Heart of Breath Ceremonial Apprenticeship is not just about learning breathwork techniques—it is about
embodiment, presence, and the deep integration of wisdom into daily life. Rooted in ceremony, community, and personal transformation, this training offers an initiation into the art of space-holding, trauma-informed facilitation, and the wisdom of breath as a living teacher.

At its heart,
this journey is about connectionto self, to others, and to the unseen forces that guide and support us. Through breathwork, sacred ceremony, and experiential learning, participants will develop the tools to facilitate with integrity, authenticity, and deep presence.

1. Emphasizing Individuality & Authenticity

Breath as a Personal and Universal Teacher

This training is not about replication—it is about embodiment. Breathwork is both a deeply personal and universally transformative practice, and each participant is encouraged to explore their unique relationship with it.

  • The breath serves as a bridge between the personal and the collective, guiding each participant on a journey of self-discovery while offering a tool for profound healing.

  • Participants are invited to reflect on their own history, emotional landscape, and energetic gifts, developing an authentic connection to their practice.

Discovering Your Unique Expression

Rather than following a rigid method, this training empowers participants to find their own way of holding space. Breathwork is a living art—it flows through each facilitator differently, shaped by their passions, experiences, and wisdom.

Examples of integration:

  • A participant deeply connected to movement may weave dance into their breathwork offerings.

  • A musician may use live soundscapes, chanting, or sacred instruments to enhance their practice.

  • Others may incorporate shamanic wisdom, astrology, or nature-based ceremony, creating an offering that feels uniquely theirs.

Facilitation is not about imitation—it is about bringing your medicine to the world.

2. Ceremony, Community
& Sacred Space

Holding Sacred Space

The training is rooted in the experience of sitting in the ceremonial circle, much like gathering around a fire—a place of transformation, storytelling, and shared wisdom.

  • Rituals such as invocations, chanting, music, and movement ground participants in the present moment and open the space for healing and connection.

  • Every session is designed to cultivate presence, allowing facilitators to develop deep listening, intuition, and trust in the energy of the space.

A Global Network of Facilitators

Community is the heartbeat of this work. Participants will form deep bonds, creating a global web of ceremonial space-holders who can lean on each other for mentorship, collaboration, and lifelong support.

  • Group practices, peer-led circles, and shared integration sessions foster an atmosphere of reciprocity and co-creation.

  • The relationships built here extend beyond the training, offering a foundation of support, wisdom, and connection as each participant steps into their role as a facilitator.

Co-Creation & Shared Growth

This is not a passive learning experience. Participants are invited to bring their voices, their stories, and their own medicine to the space.

  • Through peer facilitation, each person has the opportunity to both lead and receive, deepening their understanding of energetic exchange.

  • Heart-centered collaboration is woven into the process, amplifying the transformation of the group as a whole.

The circle teaches us that we are both teachers and students, each carrying wisdom that contributes to the whole.

3. Integration of Natural Law & Indigenous Wisdom

Honoring Natural Law

Natural law—the understanding that we are intrinsically connected to the Earth—serves as a guiding principle throughout this training.

  • Sessions are designed to align with natural rhythms, lunar cycles, and elemental wisdom, reinforcing the deep interconnection between breath, body, and the living world.

  • Participants are encouraged to practice eco-consciousness, integrating breathwork in ways that honor and respectthe land, the elements, and all beings.

The Four Directions, Fire, and Transformation

Sacred teachings from Indigenous traditions offer a profound framework for ceremony:

  • The Four Directions provide tools for grounding, intention-setting, and energetic alignment.

  • Fire ceremonies become a central part of the training, allowing participants to release old patterns, step into transformation, and connect with the wisdom of ancestors.

Wisdom from Indigenous Teachings

This training is inspired by the deep teachings of Earth-honoring cultures, including:

  • The Mirning people’s whale dreaming, which speaks to interconnection, listening, and deep presence.

  • Aboriginal principles such as "Kanyini" (unconditional love and connection to all life), reminding us that we do not walk this path alone.

Respect & Integrity: Participants are guided to honor these traditions with deep respect, ensuring that Indigenous teachings are acknowledged, honored, and integrated with integrity—not appropriation.

A Holistic Approach to Ceremony

The ceremonial space is multi-dimensional, integrating tools that deepen the experience of breathwork:

  • Drumming, chanting, and movement as ways to shift energy and awaken presence.

  • Working with the four elements:

    • Water for flow and emotional release.

    • Air for clarity and inspiration.

    • Fire for transformation and courage.

    • Earth for grounding and integration.

Each participant is encouraged to explore and experiment, finding their own relationship to ceremony, breath, and the unseen world.

4. Embodiment & Integration: Walking the Path Beyond the Training

Living the Teachings

This training is not just about learning techniques—it is about living them.

  • Integration is woven throughout the process, ensuring that facilitators do not just understand the work but embodyit.

  • Each participant will explore how to carry the wisdom of breathwork into their daily lives, infusing their practice with authenticity and integrity.

Beyond the Training: A Lifelong Journey

  • The teachings here do not end after six weeks—they are carried forward, evolving as each facilitator grows.

  • Ongoing mentorship, community gatherings, and online integration sessions offer continued support as participants step into their roles.

A Commitment to Service

Breathwork is not just about self-discovery—it is about service.

  • Each participant is invited to become a guardian of this work, approaching facilitation with humility, responsibility, and a deep commitment to ethical practice.

  • Those who complete the training step forward not as ‘teachers’ but as space-holders, guiding others with compassion, reverence, and deep listening.

The work of ceremony is not a performance—it is an offering.
